Goodnight, Sweet Prince

A Piles-less house is not a good house. Rest in peace, my good and faithful dude.

A lovely tribute, Cecilie. It made me smile, it made me cry. Piles was a good one. I’ll also miss him.

Me too. It really doesn’t matter that I “relieved him from his suffering” and “he had a good life” – there’s an empty space by the door and inside me.

  2. Spike says:

One of my dogs passed away earlier this year so I know firsthand how emotional such a loss can be. My condolences.

  3. Thinking of you. It’s hard. Our pets are our best friends. And they are so lucky to have good people to live with.

  4. Norma says:

Hope you’re doing ok. He was a good dog.

  5. Vienna says:

    so sorry…

  6. Erlend says:

    Stakkars Cecilie

  7. Steve says:

R.I.P. Piles. Good memories of walking him through the buffalo paddies. May he chase water buffalo in dog heaven.

Thank you! I miss my Piles so much. He used to sleep outside my bedroom door in his later years. But he was sick and didn’t even enjoy walks anymore, so it’s nice for us (humans) to think he’s in a better place. Or no place – at least he’s not looking at me with eyes light with pain.

  8. Steve says:

Perry is also very sorry to hear about Piles. We are drinking a toast to him as I write this.

    • cecilie says:

Oh, thank you! Don’t stay up too late. Say hello to Perry from me. HK really isn’t the same without you two. Yes, get your arse back here so we can make some FILMS!

      • Steve says:

Absolutely! We talk about it all the time- we prefer HK to London by a factor of, oh, TEN BILLION! What were we thinking??! Now pulling up tent stakes and moving back to NYC. But an HK visit (complete with filmage- I remember all my Canto!) is in the offing.
