We shot an episode in Cantonese - The Movie today, in IKEA. We got quite a lot done before being thrown out. Well not thrown out but asked nicely not to film in IKEA because apparently it’s not a public place. What? It certainly seemed that the two million people there weren’t in a private place, but never mind. We got our shots from the bed department and all was fine.
And getting into our costumes in the toilet made it all worth while. We were standing there in front of the mirrors, my friend “Media” as Ah-Wai (see above pic) and me as Ah-Mok.
Through the mirror I could see women hovering outside - then quickly walking away because they thought they had accidentally tried to walk into the MEN’S toilets. Then coming back from the men’s, which really were the men’s, all confused. How could this be - the men’s were the men’s but here was the women’s toilets - with moustaches in them?!?
That was a lovely moment. Shouldn’t laugh at other people’s confusion and distress, but did. Howlingly.

Hm… scrambling through the Dictionary of Cantonese Slang … can’t find. It’s all about triads, prostitution and killing. And defecation, years spent in prison. Not a word about fizzing at any orifice. Damn!
